    Cosmo Campoli (Ma – Decem ) was a Chicago-based sculptor, known for his figurative work centered on the themes of birth and death, and for his use of bold, surreal bird and egg imagery. "Hairy Who & The Chicago Imagists" is the first film to tell the Imagists' whole story, from their notoriety in the s to their 21st-century resurgence in popularity.

Almost 50 years after their first show, the Imagists have influenced generations of artists, from Jeff Koons to Chris Ware. In Chicago art dealer Phyllis Kind began representing Brown, and she gave him his first solo show at her gallery in Soon after, art critic Franz Schulze, who coined the term imagists for the SAIC-schooled group, included Brown in his book Fantastic Images: Chicago Art Since (), helping that group achieve greater exposure.
